When should I start brushing my baby’s teeth?!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The NZ Dental Association recommends you start brushing as soon as a tooth pops through the gums and to do this at least twice a day with a smear of fluoride toothpaste and a soft toothbrush. You’ll most likely notice Bub’s first tooth around six months – but it could be earlier or later ✨

It’s really important to make toothbrushing a positive experience from the very beginning. A big way to avoid the battle over tooth brushing when your little one is first getting teeth is to choose the right brush!
Our 360° Silicone Toothbrush has long been a favourite for many families, and it’s easy to see why:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Made with soft 100% food grade silicone – so gentle, but so effective.
- Flexible silicone bristles – flex to remove residue and plaque, but durable enough that they can’t be bitten off!
- A thorough clean – bristles go all the way around the toothbrush head for cleaning at every angle.
- Non-toxic – no plastic here, and none of the nasties that come with it!
- Includes a guard to prevent babies from choking themselves with the toothbrush.
- Long-lasting – boil to sterilise! You can’t do this with a plastic brush.
What do you do to make tooth brushing fun in your home? It could be a song, a book, looking in the mirror or just some great words of encouragement! Share your tips below – they may be helpful for other parents
